June 2022 Newsletter

Hello all!

I am not sure what to write about for this HELLO! I just know that I need to get this newsletter out to you. Joan, our administrator, is in the hospital recovering from emergency surgery. She is doing well and feeling so much better, with some recovery time ahead of her. I visited with her today and told her that I was heading to office to be her…Yikes! We both laughed. I am not sure I have much hope. I am not sure how to format a newsletter, but I will try…! This paragraph already looks strange to me…

So this newsletter will be different. Parts may be missing, but there is good information here, so I hope you will take some time to read it over. I am especially excited about our Pep Rally Sunday June 12 th ! It will be good to hear from our church leaders about the various ministries of the church.

Also I am excited that we are starting inquiry classes for those new to the church. I look forward to hearing their stories and sharing Moravian theology and identity.

Also on my mind, is the fact that two days from now I fly to England. I am excited, but there is much to do before that. I am flying there to spend time visiting my daughter, Addison. We will see her campus, pack up her bags and she will head home. This will be big transition for her. She has met wonderful people and it will be hard to leave them. It will be hard to leave what has been her “home” for a year.

Transitions. Maybe that is what I want to talk about for this HELLO. I know some of you are in the midst of transitions: graduations, children leaving home, children returning, retirement, moving, grandchildren, aging, health scares and health changes. Some of these things bring with them some excitement, others bring sadness or some loss. All of these things (good and bad) often bring some anxiousness.

Joan shared with me a saying that has helped keep her grounded: “Everything will be all right in the end. So, if everything is not all right, then it is not yet the end.” Everything will be alright. We know this because God watches over us, always and to the end. Thanks be to God!
